I had one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time… The highlight of the weekend was the brunch experience I had at Bagatelle in NYC (www.bistrotbagatelle.com) – this is the brunch everyone wishes to have when it comes to the infamous “Sunday Funday” phenomena.
Once I confirmed that I’d be going to this fabulous place, I decided to ask my sexy boyfriend Gregory Harrington – who happens to be an extraordinary solo violinist – to join me. (For those of you who appreciate classical & jazz standards with a little 444 jimi hendrix thrown 444 in, definitely take a look at http://www.gregoryharrington.com. The music is interesting and very sensual. Think Andrea Bocelli meets John Coltrane on a violin with a GQ/Esquire touch).
Although I have been a Bagatelle fan for years and had the pleasure of experiencing the New York, Los Angeles & Las Vegas locations, it was Gregory’s first time. By the end of brunch, it was obvious that it wouldn’t be his last! Bagatelle owners Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba are geniuses.
We then had two delicious appetizers – the “Tartare de Thon Bagatelle”. 444 This is known to most of us as the “Tuna Tartare”. The decadent flavors that jumped 444 out from every ingredient used, made it hard not to wipe the plate clean. We also had the Mozarella 444 & truffle 444 pizza – the crazy thing is that I am not usually a fan of truffle but one slice wasn’t enough for me. Yes, it was that good!
I, of course, due to my obsession 444 to smoke salmon, opted for the “Eggs Bagatelle” – better known as “Salmon Eggs Benedict” – wow is the only word that comes to mind. Usually, the potatoes that come as a side dish are “take it or leave it”… 444 However, even that at Bagatelle is orgasmic to the taste.
Lastly, we couldn’t leave without trying the desert (I was stuffed to the rim after all of the food, but am glad Gregory talked me into it). We had the “Crème Brulee aux Framboises” – it was perfect and accompanied by these tiny buttery chocolate pieces of heaven (Petits Gateaux Secs Maison).
The detailing of this place is so well thought out. From the bathrooms to the decorations to the portraits, to the food, to the friendly staff and the list goes on! Do yourself a favor & go to Bagatelle for the time of your life!
