This week s store bought flowers are dark pink mini-carnations. The mini-carnations were selected by Miss Violet after Ashton benevolently insisted that she choose instead of him. He is a saint, I tell you, a saint! Good thing saints are not judged on how long it takes them to get ready for school in the morning.
These mini-carnations were a very good deal. We got quite a lot for $4.99. Also, clipped mini-carnations will give you a full 7-day week, if not 10 days as long as you keep the water nice and fresh. I like to clip the bottom of the stem each time I change the water, so the plant matter will not become too mushy-like.
The first picture is of the casualties. When we removed the plastic from around the flowers, there were quite a few heads that had fallen off the stems. It seems a shame to throw them away. The second photo is the ones with shorter stems plus a few casualties that Miss Violet wanted to throw in. The last two photos are of the tallest beauties, looking splendid.
